This is an experiment.
I seek the STORY within STORIES we carry across TIME
What’s the story inside the stories we tell?
Humans are storytellers. Rocks have a story, the air has a story, why the stars spark in the sky, a billion stories told many many times. We don’t need the truth, we just need language.
Each of us holds old stories in us, given to us by older people, and those stories come forward in our creative life.
After a career as a playwright and theater director, I am returning to an older form of story, the kind with pictures meant to be read out loud, sounded out, and looked at over and over. This is my return to an older self.
Isn’t it strange that my newest self, the one that shook awake just this morning, is my oldest version, while my ‘old’ self was much younger?
I’m exploring picture book writing and illustration. This site holds examples of my current explorations with a few dashes of my past adventures.
